EXPEDITION SUMBA MERAPU CULTURE 5D/4N TOUR PACKAGE

ITINERARY:

DAY.01. DENPASAR-WAINGAPU – PRAI LIANG VILLAGE  

On arrival at Mauhau Airport in Waingapu eastern Sumba island, pick up by our local tour guide then transfer to hotel Elvin to check in. Then visit Prai Liang Village, which is set up at the top a hill overlooking the valley and river. You will be walked  around 300m, passing through the spirit gate to see stunning local style houses. This is the way of their daily lifes.  With cool breezes and amazing views, we can easily understand why they choose to stay in this beautiful area.  Afternoon return to Hotel dinner and overnight.

DAY.02. WAINGAPU – RENDE

After breakfast at Hotel, visit the traditional village of PAU DAN RENDE passing via  Melolo to see the royal tomb made from the megalithic stone and the traditional houses, one of the house with the wall contraction made from the Buffalo leather from the sucrificered for a ritual traditional ceremony . Lunch Box will be served. The trip continue to Mau Jawa village to see the procees palm sugar made from. Afternoon drive to hotel, Returned to the hotel Elvin for overnight.

DAY.03.WAINGAPU – WAIKABUBAK

Breakfast at Hotel, drive to Waikabubak western of Sumba in approximately 137 km it will be spent about 4 hours, through beautiful panorama on the way stop will be made at Pasunga village to see the Greatest stone Grave and the traditional houses of west sumbanese. Proceed to Waikabubak the capital of West Sumba regency,check in at Manandang hotel. Afternoon visit Prai Ijing,Tarung and Waitabar village the traditional houses which decorated by huge Buffaloes horn. Wulapoddu  ceremonial to be helt in these village. Wulla Poddu is the Merapus New Years by Laulinese and as the such thanks giving to whorship and asking the rain for the planting season. Late afternoon drive back to hotel  stop at  Algaleri artshop where there are many collection of Sumbanese antiques

DAY 04. WAIKABUBAK – WANUKAKA-LAMBOYA – OROBEACH(Breakfast )

After breakfast at Hotel, the trip start to Wanukaka, on the way a short photo stop at Lapale to enjoy the fantastic huge rice field and Wanukaka beach  as background. Drive continued to Waigali village to see the Skull tree as dedicated to the Merapu war and it was used as the altar for the rituals following head hunting. Proceed to Pasolla field at Laihuruk, next visiting to Praigoly village to see the oldest stone grave called “Watu Kajiwa ” which believe  as the ancestor’s boat. Proceed to Lamboya and stop at Waruwora and Wuntalaka Village, drive continued to the Kodi  on west part of Waikabubak for visit Bondo Kodi village, Rotenggaro  and Tossi village, these villages as the places of Posala event to be held on every February. Check in at hotel Oro Beach For overnight.

DAY 05. ORO BEACH – AIRPORT – DENPASR ( Breakfast )

After breakfast free programes until the time to transfer you to Aiport of Tambulaka  for flight to Denpasar.
